About The Whiskey Radio Hour

The Whiskey Radio Hour began in 2013 as a showcase for three short radio plays written by Jessica Wright Buha and grew into a recurring live show that has had 21 episodes and counting. The structure we built for a limited run was a great foundation to produce new short radio plays written, directed, and performed by over a hundred collaborating artists. Though I directed the entirety of the pilot episode, I became a producer of the series, working with guest artists while co—writing and directing the Whiskey Radio Band storyline. The ananlog aesthetics, knee-slapping comedy, signature songwriting, and community ethos of The Whiskey Radio Hour have made it a Chicago institution that has lived in theatres, music venues, and back rooms of bars.
